COL Reminder 3.0 is finally released
Finally after coding for over 6 months I have released the brand new COL Reminder 3.0 version!
Completly new fresh design. It looks now modern and not outdated as the old 2.x version was.
I use some new feature like the Floating Action Button or of course the Action Bar and Navigation Drawer!
Added really a lot of new features like the new Location Reminder. (All features are listed here)
And I have tried to get compatible down to Android 2.2 because a lot of users still using this version!!
As on every completly rewrite at the beginning there are some bugs and optimizations needs.
I am working hard to optimize the 3.x release cycle as I did with 2.x!
The 2.0 wasn’t also far from perfect 😉
With the last updates I think I have ironed out some critical bugs and added some optimizations.
And this was not the last update!!
I have seen a lot of users are not satisfied with the new look or behaviour of the app.
Yes it is different and uses the new features introduced in Android 4.x with the Holo Design, yes I understand that I can’t make all users happy with that, but please give the 3.x release cycle a chance!
Also a lot of users have written to me that the 2.x version looks old and outdated.
And I think it is the right way to follow the new modern design and usability guidelines. The 2.x release cycle was made with the very old design/usability guidelines and I haven’t time to update it for a long time to the new one.
So please learn the new way of the new design as a lot of other apps (and even more coming) will follow this.
What’s coming next:
3.0.4 release will be also a optimization and fix release and one most requested feature will be added –> Font/Color customization.
With the 3.1 release I will add the new Material Design introduced in Android 5.0.
And of course a few other features.
As always I can’t say any timeframe for the updates.
