Happy new year and year 2023 plan

I wish all my users a happy new year 2023!
The year 2022 was again an exciting year with a lot of up and downs.

As always some statitics of the year 2022.

COL Reminder Installations are went down from about 11.600 installs to 11.300 installs.
Strange thing was in July because there was a huge drop of installs and afterward it went again up. 🙂

COL Reminder daily usage is getting up since early 2022. This is a good thing, so COL Reminder is used on a daily basis.

The bad thing about 2022 was in November. It was needed to make an update of the code base to Android 12, otherwise Google won’t except any updates anymore.
This was the time when a really strange problems has started.

I have now tried a lot to find the cause and fix the problem.

But certainly I don’t know why this sometimes happens. I have also tried to ask the community for help, but as of now I don’t have any hints or anyone can say why this happens.

The code base of COL Reminder is now over 10 years old, and it is very hard to maintain and add new features.
Now, after the last problem where it seems I don’t find the problem, I decided to do a complete recode of the app.

Start again from the ground up with the newest technically things like Compose, Room, Lifecycle Awareness and a lot more.
And of course I will change from Java to Kotlin.

I will start the new year 2023 with this, and please stay tuned for more updates.
Because it is a complete rewrite don’t expect a release soon 😉
