3.1.1 Update Release And Picker Knowledge
After 3.1 Material Design release there is another official release 3.1.1 !
All major bugs after the 3.1 are now fixed (I hope) and I have added 2 small new features.
The share feature is now back and uses on Marshmallow the new
direct share screen:
Two new options for time and date picker:
I’ve added the option to use the “native system” time/date picker.
Great! But what’s exactly is this?
On every Android version there exists a standard time and date picker.
This time and date picker is changing from Android version to Android version and some manufactors (LG, HTC, Samsung, ..) are changing the look of this system time/date picker.
This is why I use a date and time picker who are a 3rd party library and looks like the default date/time picker on Lollipop (5.0).
So this look and feel won’t change from version to version. It looks an all version and manufactors the same.
Anyway, if you are not satisfied with the date or time picker you can now select the “native” one and I will call the native system date or time picker on your system.
It will look on every version different, so you have to try it out and check if it is better for you as the inbuild one.
For example, on Android 4.x the native system time picker on Standard Android (no change of a manufactor) looks like this:
On Android 5.x it looks like this:
And on Android 6.x it looks again different:
I hope with this new option, everyone can find a picker with whom he is pleased.
